Ponce Inlet
Incorporated as the town of Ponce Inlet in 1963, this small community encompasses seven square miles and boasts breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Halifax River. The town is located on the southern tip of the peninsula. The Ponce DeLeon Lighthouse, a Nationally Registered Historic Landmark, was constructed more than 100 years ago and remained in service until 1970. Since the restoration as a historic monument and museum, the lighthouse still marks the entrance to the Intracoastal Waterway through Ponce Inlet.
Several Marinas are located in Ponce Inlet, which is considered one of the area’s prime fishing spots. The area is prized by its residents for the relaxed lifestyle and natural, un-crowded beaches.
